5 Holiday Gifts for Mom to Put A Sparkle in Her Life
The winter holidays are fast approaching and many people (especially moms) are stressed, exhausted and burnt out. We (moms) feel like we are responsible for bringing magic to our families and making holidays a special experience.
But are you included in enjoying the magic, mama? Or are you running yourself into the ground? If it’s the latter, I think it’s time to stop, take a deep breath, regroup, and make sure that you experience the magic as well. And if you’re looking for some stress relief tips for this holiday season, check out Stress Busting Holiday Self-Care for Moms.
I personally love winter holidays. And I’m so lucky that through having a blended family, I get to celebrate Hanukkah, New Year and Christmas. But the one thing I refuse to do is make holidays stressful. Holidays are fun. They’re filled with magic and light to get us through the cold and dark of winter.
So this year, I’m only doing things that I find enjoyable and nothing more than that. I plan on decorating the house over the weekend because I want to. And both my sons will help with it. They are both fascinated by the holidays and all the beautiful lights and decorations. I will not stress out about how many presents to give my children (1 each is plenty) and I will enjoy time spent with family. And as I’m buying presents for other people, I will make sure not to neglect myself and get things that will help me create a festive and enjoyable atmosphere for myself.

So mama, while you’re doing your online shopping to make sure that everyone is taken care of, pick some things up for yourself.
Here’s what’s on my list.
Decorations and Lights
My eldest is obsessed with owls, and I have become obsessed with them too. So, I figured these could be a great addition to our tree this year. This brings me joy, so the magic of new ornaments is for me and my family. And because all the holidays are about light, I wanted to get some fun lights for inside and outside.
Holiday Candles
There is nothing more magical to me than warm candle light. And the holidays are the perfect excuse to stock up on some yummy smelling and festive candles.
Holiday Skincare and Makeup
I don’t know about you, but my skin doesn’t naturally glow. In fact, if it glows, it means it is oily. So I’m picking up some items to help my skin feel refreshed, rested and more glamorous. Who doesn’t want that over the holidays or any time of the year, really.(All cruelty-free).
Journaling
I used to love keeping a journal when I was a teenager. It was also insightful to look at it later in my life and see where I was at. So I’ve been thinking that I need to get back to journaling for my mental health. I get so bogged down by the every day, that I lose perspective of what’s important. I want to develop a practice that will help keep me focused and not allow small every day struggles to drag me down. And a beautiful journal will make the perfect gift for any mom.
Handmade Jewelry
Holidays are full of sparkle. And one way many moms would love to add sparkle to their holiday is through wearing unique handmade jewelry. Even if you’re not going anywhere in particular this holiday season (I know I’m not), it’s still brings joy to put on a beautiful outfit adorned with jewelry made just for you.
So these are the things I will be getting for myself to make sure that I don’t miss out on the magic of holidays. Remember, mama, you are special, you are worth it and you deserve some magic in your life!!!
Happy Holidays!!!!
P.S. If instead of buying things, you want to splurge on a relaxing experience for yourself, GO FOR IT!!!! Book yourself a massage, spa day, hair cut or get your nails done. You do you, mama!

This is so true! We moms are just running from one thing to the next all the time and holidays are tough! Last weekend while the kids were at the mall I did take 2 rounds of the massage chair while sipping on a frappe from Starbucks I think I will make time for that every week!
